10 best places to go camping in Washington. Pictured is Ohanapecosh, Mount Rainier National Park – 9 more at the link. Ohanapecosh is usually the least crowded of the three. It tops my list for the wild river that runs right through the middle of the campground. Hike the .5 mile nature loop trail out of the campground through enormous Doug firs and hemlocks to the waters of the Ohanapecosh Hot Springs. Up the road is the Grove of the Patriarchs trail, to see some of the biggest trees on earth.
